Self-care might be a word you’re hearing a lot these days, but here at Heritage Store, we’ve been in the business of bettering yourself since 1969. We know it goes deeper than a face mask or two -- it’s all about going deeper and making it a lifestyle. Because when we take care of ourselves, it makes it easier to help others — and when the season shifts, it becomes the perfect time to recommit to your self-care.
Whether you’re looking for a little DIY beauty, or for us to do the work for you, here are our favorite ways we’re bringing back self-care this season and starting fresh.
Find Common Ground
Sometimes the best way to ground ourselves is by surrounding ourselves with natural elements. Spritzing Rosewater onto your skin, hair, and space throughout the day reminds you of the world around you while hydrating and energizing your mental space.
Switch it up AM to PM
Integrate some new products into your morning or nighttime skincare routine. It can be as simple as adding a Rose Oil as your last step to lock in your skincare, or Rosewater & Glycerin in the morning to lock in your makeup.
Create a Meditation Space
Even the smallest apartments deserve a spot for mindfulness. Lay out a beautiful tapestry or yoga mat, light some candles, and spray a circle of our Aura Smudge for a truly transcendent place to be by yourself.
Elevate Your Wellness
If you’re feeling a little under the weather, try a relaxing Castor Oil Pack. By saturating a wool cloth with Castor Oil, then laying it on your stomach along with a heating pad, this combination cleanses and purifies your skin while providing some grounding relaxation time.
Refresh Your Hair
Summer can do a whole lot of damage to your hair, so after you get your seasonal cut, we recommend a deeply nourishing Black Castor Oil hair mask. Apply to your hair then wrap it up for thirty minutes to an hour, then wash out as usual. The result is soft, touchable strands that say “summer sun who?”
