Are you ever in the middle of your meticulously curated skincare, with your dropper bottles and rose quartz rollers and just-so lighting and think...am I basically a chemist? While no...you’re not, there’s just something so soothing and fun about being able to intelligently mix together formulas for a result that gets you glowing.
For those days when your skin needs a clarifying detox (maybe you’ve had a few makeup-heavy days, or are transitioning between seasons), this is our absolute go-to face mask combo to pamper and polish your skin. Plus, it gives all the skincare chemist vibes.
Step 1: Grab Heritage Store’s Ancient Healing Clay. This powder is made up of one ingredient (Calcium Bentonite Clay) that has been used in beauty rituals for centuries. Cleopatra used it...ever heard of her? Packed with minerals, it’s known for enriching and purifying skin, while leaving you feeling deeply-cleansed.
Step 2: Get out your Heritage Store Rosewater & Vinegar Exfoliating Toner. This oil-absorbing mist has Damask Roses and Apple Cider Vinegar, so together they remove debris, exfoliate, and soothe skin.
Step 3: Scoop out 1-2 teaspoons of the Ancient Healing Clay into a bowl or earthenware pot. If there are any small clumps of clay, smooth them out with the back of a spoon.
Step 4: Pour the same amount of Rosewater & Vinegar into the pot -- too little product is better than too much, as you want to make a paste that can adhere to your skin. Mix with the spoon, then add a little more Rosewater or clay if needed. It should look like a clay mask. Mixing these two ingredients together amplifies the purifying results, rather than using plain water.
Step 5: Apply the mask to your face using a mask brush or clean fingers -- it should be a somewhat thick layer, though it should be thin enough to dry completely.
Step 6: Relax while it goes to work, and leave it on for 15 minutes. If you feel a tightening, that means it’s working! Once complete, wash off with warm water and a clean towel.
