We all think we know what a toner is – it’s usually the second or so step in your skincare routine that’s meant to refresh your skin without stripping it of its moisture. Back in the ‘90s most people used an astringent instead of a toner, and usually the first ingredient was alcohol – let’s all cringe at that one. Toners have come a long way since that stinging sensation we all thought we needed, and there are lots of options out there that sweep away dirt and impurities in the skin and prepare your skin for the next step in your routine. A common problem however, is that a lot of toners out there can still be drying to some skin types. Enter…us. 

Rosewater is actually considered a toner on its own, with its soothing and hydrating tendencies. When we developed the Rosewater Toner Moisturizing Essence, we knew we didn’t want it to be a regular toner (Cue Mean Girls reference, here.) Perfectly prepped skin needs to be hydrated in order to really drink up the rest of your steps, so we created a formula that acts as a toner but is also hyper-hydrating to give you that dewy radiance we all want anyway. 

How does this toner feel different?

Great question – it actually will feel different on your skin than your typical toner. While other toners may give your skin that squeaky clean feeling, ours will actually impart a tacky sensation that means it’s working. This texture is what helps your serum and moisturizer adhere and sink into your skin, because it’s been properly prepped and hydrated. 

What are the ingredients?

Damask Rose, of course – our fan favorite. These roses that hail straight from Europe soothe and soften skin while also delivering our signature light rose scent. Then we added Hyaluronic Acid to the formula – it acts as a humectant to draw in your skin’s natural moisture and that’s where that glow comes from.

Do I have to use it differently?

Nope! After your cleansing step, use a cotton pad to sweep the Rosewater Toner over your skin to clear the surface or any residual dirt or impurities. Repeat if you feel necessary, then let sit for a few seconds for that dewy effect before moving onto your serum step.
